Season 4 Tower of Trials (March 9th to April 6th, 2021)
Floors 1 - 20
This particular season has players facing members from the Roars of Dawn. Like with previous seasons, the early floors of the Tower of Trials can use any number of heroes, as these levels tend to be easier. AOE team compositions tend to be better to rush the floor completion since they’re able to attack the hidden bosses that can’t be targeted.
In general, a combination of the following can be useful:
- AOE DPS character (such as Red Sariel or Red Lostvayne Meliodas)
- DPS character (such as Blue “The One” Escanor)
- Rank Up character (such as Red Gowther or Halloween Gowther)
- Counter character (such as Green Escanor)
- Boost character (such as Green New King Arthur or Red Princess Elizabeth)
- Shield character (such as Blue Goddess Elizabeth)
The optimal units to use in the sub slot are either Green Deathpierce or Green Jillian due to the bonuses that they apply
Floors 21 - 25
The last four floors tend to be more difficult. These are the floors that will likely need Lifesteal or Attack food to help improve upon attacks being dealt by allies. For these levels, it’s important to utilize a combination of a heavy attack-dealer, a unit to protect or to heal, a unit to rank up skills, and finally a sub unit to boost the skills of the units currently in combat.
The boss fight on Floor 25, against Slater, in particular, is difficult due to the Unique abilities that the boss possesses. For every time that he survives an Ultimate Move attack against him, his own Ultimate Move Gauge will fill by five orbs. Once the minions are killed and he is left alone, his own Attack is increased by 50%, which is why it is beneficial to use AOE or counter attacks before the minions are killed since he cannot be targeted (due to Hide). Additionally, each time that he uses a skill on a hero that has an empty Ultimate Move Gauge, it will increase his Crit Chance to 500% of its value so it is important to not allow any heroes to be on the battlefield without at least one orb in their gauge. Green Estarossa with Lifesteal food is particularly effective as the primary damage-dealer, as he is a must-have and one of the best Coin Shop units. Lifesteal food will help to restore his HP to better ensure his survivability. So far, he has been an MVP in ToT seasons 1, 2, and 4, and will likely continue to be useful in future seasons.

This team composition takes advantage of a full human team composition to optimize Green Roxy’s Unique ability, which increases her Attack-related stats by 15% for each ally of the same race participating in the battle. Her Ultimate Move helps to refill itself, as each time that she uses her Ultimate Move it refills her gauge by two orbs. Her Charge damage ignores the enemies’ Defense, and since she’s able to do AOE damage she’s able to attack even when the boss is hidden. Green New King Arthur helps to boost the damage dealt by all allies, as well as reduce the damage taken for all allies. Green Deathpierce in the sub slot serves to decrease the enemies’ Crit Resistance and Crit Defense by 30% to make them easier to beat. Red Kyo, then, is able to be a heavy damage dealer -- he’s able to apply Co-destruction (single-target), Blaze (all enemies), and Ignite (all enemies) effects. His Unique ability also applies two Ignite effects on all enemies for three turns at the beginning of each turn and then reduces the damage dealt to his allies by 5% for each Ignite effect on an enemy. Since Blaze applies additional Ignite effects, this is able to even further reduce the damage being dealt to his allies.

This team composition takes advantage of Blue Lillia’s skills to decrease the enemy’s Ult Move gauge and utilizes her Unique ability to boost the Green Rugal’s Pierce attacks against all enemies. Utilizing either Green Roxy or Blue Demon Meliodas appeals to two different strategies. Since Blue Lillia, Green Rugal and Green Deathpierce are all humans, the three of them can help to further increase Green Roxy’s Attack-related stats. Alternatively, using Blue Demon Meliodas is another option since he can further take advantage of Blue Lillia’s Unique ability to boost Blue Demon Meliodas Pierce attacks against all enemies, which makes for a very effective AOE Pierce team composition. Last but not least, Green Deathpierce in the sub slot serves to decrease the enemies’ Crit Resistance and Crit Defense by 30% to make them easier to beat.

- Green Estarossa/ LV Meli / Red Sariel / The One
- Green New King Arthur / Blue Goddess Elizabeth / Red Elizabeth
- Green Halloween Gowther / Red Gowther
- Green Deathpierce / Green Jillian
These team composition options utilize having a combination of one damage dealer, one shield, one rank-up user, and one all-around boost giver. Out of these options, the most F2P-friendly team build is Green Estarossa, Red Elizabeth, Red Gowther and Green Deathpierce, as all of these units can be obtained from the Coin Shop.
For damage dealers, any usage of Green Estarossa, Lostvayne Meliodas, Red Sariel, or Blue “The One” Escanor can be utilized. Each of these has very high Attack skills that can deal significant amounts of damage. Escanor is only able to do single-target damage so he can only target the boss after the minions are killed although the amount of damage that he’s able to do is fairly high, whereas Lostvayne Meliodas and Red Sariel both have AOE damage attack skills so they can target the boss and minions simultaneously. Alternatively, Green Estarossa is able to taunt his enemies and inflict significant damage upon his counters, so he’s also a good option to use to respond with damage although he’s not able to target the boss until after the minions are killed.
As shields, Green New King Arthur’s Unique ability helps to not only boost the damage dealt by all allies but also to reduce the damage taken for all allies. Blue Goddess Elizabeth helps to ensure the survivability of the team as she’s able to apply shields and reflect damage. Red Elizabeth is a F2P-friendly healer who can continuously help to heal her allies. Not only does her primary attack heal as she’s dealing damage on the enemy, but more importantly her Unique ability increases her allies’ Recovery Rates by 10% every time she heals an ally’s HP.
From the sub slot, Green Deathpierce’s Unique ability decreases the enemies’ Crit Resistance and Crit Defense by 30% to make them easier to beat, whereas Green Jillian’s Unique ability increases the HP of all HP (green) allies by 30%, which helps to increase the survivability of the team when using a mono green team (i.e. Green Estarossa, Green New King Arthur, Green Halloween Gowther, and Green Deathpierce).
Boss Levels
All boss levels will have the number of skill uses increased by 2 and will be affected by Hide, which prevents them from being able to select targets if there is an ally hero on the battlefield. All bosses are also able to attack while ignoring Evasion. Minions with bosses are not listed in the table below, but they typically have Heavy Blow and Wound skills that are only able to be Rank 1 and Rank 2, with Wound being their Ultimate Move.
