This guide covers the recommended team compositions and strategies to beat Skoll and Hati with a regular team. Here you can find other compositions such as the Skoll and Hati Guide - Patience Team or a Skoll and Hati Guide - Post Thonar's Holy Relic guide.
The goal is to maximize the acquisition of Twilight source, a rare material exclusively acquired from First Time Stage Clear rewards and World Tree Tower Exchange Shop.
Demonic Beast Battles are the main source of Holy Relic materials. When crafted, it grants special effects and additional basic stats to registered heroes. It is the most difficult PVE content to clear, requiring your heroes to be maxed out in levels and equipment to compete. Specific skills are also needed to counter the gimmicks in each Phase. Cleanse / Heal, Buff Removal, and Stance Removal are essential skills to have on your team.
There are currently three floors, each with 3 phases to clear. First Time Stage Clear Rewards can be claimed once weekly after clearing a floor one time. After the weekly reset on Mondays, it can be claimed once again. However, stage rewards can be farmed repeatedly to acquire other materials.

Roles[]
Damage Dealer - Heroes with the Cleave / Amplify skill are capable of dealing immense damage to the boss.

Important Notes[]
- A random Demonic Beast passive is applied on each floor during Phase 3; note that these passives will carry over through the entire run for all of the floors:
- The HP of your heroes won’t refill after each floor so you will keep the HP levels you had on the last turn of the previous floor; it’s recommended to use a heal (if you have it) right before ending each floor.
- Red Thonar and Artifact Set No. 29 are a MUST if you want to complete all 3 floors. If you don’t have Red Thonar, you can use a Patience team.
- On each floor, Skoll and Hati will alternate roles during the fight as a buffer and main fighter: during Phase 1, Skoll will be the fighter while Hati protects him; in Phase 2, Hati will be the fighter and Skoll will buff him; during Phase 3, both will fight at the same time. Notice that this pattern will be repeated in ALL FLOORS.
- Unlike the other two Demonic Beasts (Hraesvelgr and Eikthyrnir), Skoll and Hati only have 3 phases.
- Heroes with max ultimate gauge are the main target when the bosses perform Dissolve attacks.
- If using Green Festival Gowther, his Debuff card is completely useless as the main bosses are immune to all of its effects.
- Hati has a Dark Attribute and Skoll has Light Attribute so they will have increased damage to enemies and decrease damage taken from enemies by 10%.
- Hati is immune to the Darkness effect which can counter Blue Berserk Estarossa preventing you from increasing allies basic stats and increase damage dealt to the boss while debuff immunity makes them immune to Encroach making it impossible to finish the boss off quickly so as a result it will render his unique completely useless on him but however Skoll isn't though so you can still inflict Darkness on Skoll though.
- In Floor 3 the Skoll will have a passive that removes buffs from units with Debuff Immunity at the beginning of their turn meaning units like Red Arthur, Blue Ellatte, Red Ellatte, Red Kizuna, Red Princess Elizabeth/LR Red Princess Elizabeth, Blue Zena and other units that apply debuff immunity are rendered useless to block out the various debuffs. Hati also have a passive that removes all from buffs from units with an Attack Increase Buff on the same floor so any unit that increases attack will be rendered useless.
Passives[]
- Floor 1
Passive | Rating |
Critical Damage Increase | Ideal |
Critical Resistance/Defense Decrease | Avoid |
Defense-related Stats Decrease | Avoid* |
- Floor 2
Passive | Rating |
Scorn of the Weak | Avoid |
Debuff Resonance | Decent |
Weakness Identification | Ideal |
Passive | Rating |
Stats Decrease | Avoid |
Damage Taken Increase | Ideal |
Critical Strike Ocurrence | Decent* |
* : Defense-related Stats Decrease passive in floor 1 can be taken. But if you reach floor 3 and you get Critical Strike Ocurrence you will lose (more than likely) so you can either restart that particular floor in search for Damage Taken Increase passive or avoid Defense-related Stats Decrease from the very beginning.
Regular Team[]
Floor 1[]
Phase 1 Strategy[]
During the first phase, Hati is immortal and cannot be killed. Attacks should be focused on Skoll as much as possible. Both bosses use buffs to increase their Defense-related stats and increase their damage reduction. This is where Stance removal and Buff removal come into play. Every 2 turns, Hati will use a Stance skill to reduce damage received to protect Skoll, and this should be removed as soon as possible because Skoll already has a max damage cap of 30% that makes it incredibly difficult to damage it with Hati’s Stance active. Hati’s Buff skill isn’t something you need to remove right away, unless it is used very often and begins to stack heavily. During the first turn you should try to stack Meliodas’ passive as much as possible. Thonar’s passive will also help to increase Attack-related stats thanks to the use of single target skills.
Due to the passives, the damage done is maximized by your 2nd turn. During their turn (if they survive), Skoll will attack again and Hati will put up a Taunt trying to protect him. Break through it with Thonar’s or Freyr’s skill.
Phase 2 Strategy[]
This phase is largely the same as the first phase, but instead Hati will be the boss that needs to be attacked while Skoll will now be the one supporting Hati. This time, Skoll is immortal and cannot be killed. In this phase, use the ultimates you have. It is strongly recommended that you have a level 2 heal for the next turn so you can purge the Infect debuff that Hati will put on your units. After your first turn, you will have at least 2 ultimates back up again thanks to Elizabeth and skill usage. Skoll will use the same Stance skill that Hati used before, so remove that when possible and as needed. Hati will lower your Attack-related stats every 2 turns by 30%, and while it is debilitating, you don’t have to cleanse it immediately. Brute force your way out with regular attacks and save your Ultimate Moves for the next Phase. One warning however the boss also have buff disable when he uses Decrease Attack-Related Status debuff so if you use a Cleanse Unit that are buff card based like Red Princess Elizabeth/LR Red Princess Elizabeth or Red Megellda it will prevent them from cleansing.
Phase 3 Strategy[]
Unlike the first two phases, now both Skoll and Hati are aggressive. What’s more, they both utilize Debuffs to lower your total stats and have Co-destruction and Release skills. Again, cleansing Debuffs is essential here, but thankfully no Stances are present here. However, Skoll does have a Taunt Buff skill that will apply 2 Ignites on your entire team every time it is attacked, so removing the Buff skill is important so you don’t have to waste constant Recovery skills.
Regardless, it is very important to kill both bosses simultaneously if you can. This is because if one boss dies, the other will have their stats Increase Drastically and will kill all of your units. Ideally, you want to have both bosses at low HP and finish both off with an AOE attack such as Dark Traitor Meliodas’s Ultimate Move. With Dark Traitor Meliodas on your team, using his Pierce skill here is very nice so you can damage both bosses at the same time. For this phase, save your AOE skills and keep using single target skills until you get to the point where you have both wolves with low HP. After a couple of turns, all you have to do is use the skills you’ve been saving and finish the floor.
Floor 2[]
Note: Using any Rank-up skills from this floor onwards is a guaranteed loss because the boss will increase their basic stats (Attack, Defense, HP) by 100% (limit 10 times) every time you use one, making them basically unkillable.
Phase 1 Strategy[]
Start your turn the same way as Floor 1, the only difference is that you will deal much less damage at the start. Focus on stacking Meliodas’s and Thonar’s passives again. It is now more important to remove Hati’s Stance, as it now reduces damage by 60% (rather than Floor 1’s 35%). Skoll will also once again increase his own Defense-related stats by 50% every two turns, making him extremely tanky if it isn’t removed. There are a lot of Debuffs here so make sure to Cleanse them off if too many are on you since Skoll has Co-destruction and Blaze skill cards. Otherwise, attack Skoll until he dies. Also, it is recommended to have Meliodas’s or Freyr’s Ultimate Moves when you reach Phase 2, so try to get them in this Phase. Skoll will apply Ignite every passing turn from here on if you don’t have Freyr or Green Valentines Melascula, hence why they’re both really useful for this content if not then Red Skadi can work as she will make the bosses weaker and your units stronger for each debuff on her to minuimize their damage on your units though however when stacked enough a burn effect that will deal massive damage to your units. It will be very difficult to Cleanse Ignites every turn if you don't have any recommended units to block or work with the Ignites.
Keep in mind that only the attacks that deal an instance of damage count for Thonar’s passive; hence, attacks that land “Patience” won’t count for the required stacks attack Hati to get it going if you know your units are gonna be Patienced. Once you get Thonar’s passive going, it will be much easier. This Phase has no special gimmicks, so just brute force out of it with any skill you have available (except for Ultimate Moves).
Phase 2 Strategy[]
This Phase must be ended as soon as possible since Hati can apply freeze on your heroes. Meliodas will lose all his buffs which will hinder his offensive capabilities by a lot and the frozen unit will take +30% extra damage when attacked. Nuke Hati, but keep in mind that you must get your Ultimates back up for the next Phase to avoid getting frozen. You can either use your Ultimates and recover them during this phase or just not use them and use your regular skills.
Phase 3 Strategy[]
During this phase, both wolves will fight together again and you will engage their freeze at random. As soon as this Phase starts, you will also get the second Demonic Beast Passive. Ideally, Meliodas won’t get frozen. The gimmick here is that you can’t attack Hati more than 5 times; he will revive after a short time if you attack him more than that. Once you get rid of Hati you will be able to fight better since you won’t have to worry about his Infect or Freeze debuffs.
What is different about this final phase is that both Skoll and Hati can apply a Revive gray buff at certain HP levels. Hati will apply it when its HP falls below 10% or so, although you can kill Hati before this is applied if enough damage is dealt so it does not survive with low HP. Skoll, on the other hand, can apply it once its HP falls below 75% or so. Therefore, it is recommended that you kill Hati first as it will be much quicker to kill than Skoll, especially since Hati uses the Extort skill, lowering the Attack and Defense of your team and adding it to its own.
Floor 3[]
Phase 1 Strategy[]
Rush Elizabeth’s Ultimate Move as soon as possible because you will need her to heal your units since Skoll will deal a lot of damage from the start. Also, make sure to save the cards that break stances or rush Meliodas’ Ultimate Move since Hati will (as usual) put a Stance up to protect Skoll. Try to keep the healing going on with Elizabeth and avoid the use of Ultimate Moves as much as possible, but use them if you have to.
Phase 2 Strategy[]
Hati will try to freeze one of your units at random every turn, so this is a little RNG-dependent. Also, he can freeze your units with a rank 2 card. There is no special gimmick in this Phase, so you just need to beat the phase without any particular strategy using your DPS units, try to keep Meliodas’ Ultimate if you get it.
Phase 3 Strategy[]
In this phase, you will also fight both wolves together as usual and you will get your final Demonic Beast Passive. Also, Hati will freeze one of your units at random every turn again. The strategy here is to focus on him to stop his debuffs (poison, bleed, freeze, etc) since those are the most dangerous ones. On the other hand, Skoll will set Ignite debuffs on your units (which won’t matter thanks to Freyr’s or Green Valentines Melascula's passive). If you have Skadi her unique will severely cripple their damage and defenses with the large amount of debuffs used though like Floor 2 Phase 1 he will apply A burn effect that will do massive damage to your units if enough Ignites stack here.
Once you do it, Skoll is much more manageable and is easier to defeat. Finish him off and end the run.
