Optimal teams to use for PvP are constantly rotating based on what new units are released that fit into the meta. Previously viable teams that have since been rendered obsolete can be found at Obsolete PvP Teams for reference during PvP events which have certain rules in which former teams may be useful.
A full human frame that provides attack increase and provide cleansing. This team relies on going first to get as many stats as possible out of Eastin's Unique or get Eternal Flames on the enemy to deal massive damage.
One of the best units in the game providing this team increased durability and an incredible damage output while decreasing the offensive capabilities of the enemy.
An excellent DPS unit, she gets extra stats with her Holy Relic. Furthermore, her Unique itself provides a great value by dealing extra damage if any of your units lands a critical strike.
A really solid Human backline unit. Provides human allies with a 7% basic stats for every enemy defeated and depletes 2 Ultimate gauges from her enemies as well, effectively preventing any comeback thanks to a merge.
Provide Crit Defense increase for the team while also cleansing them for every time he sets up his Stance, excellent for countering enemies with any kind of debuffs.
He serves as the tank for the team. It reduces the damage he takes all while removing an Ultimate Move orb from his attacker each time he is attacked. Also, due to his Unique ability, he increases all Human allies’ HP by 30% and their damage dealt to any enemy by 20%.

This team aims to enable Mael. The rest of the team is meant to make sure Mael isn't killed early on, a decent number of dupes in the units is recommended but not entirely required. Elizabeth can act as a secondary DPS thanks to her high damage rate as more skills are used by her allies while providing protection via Resurrection.
The main DPS of the team. The end goal is to wipe the enemy team with his Ultimate, if necessary. He is best used in a full Goddess race team so his Unique Ability can take full effect and protect the team from stat-lowering effects.
With her LR upgrade, Ludociel has become an even stronger choice for the Goddess team by increasing the capacity of Mael and other allies to land Crit Attacks. Furthermore, the increase in stats makes her a less frail unit.
Elizabeth is a strong DPS who can keep the enemies under control but also provide massive durability to other units in your team by reducing the damage they receive or saving a unit from death (although, the buffs are blue for her allies so they can be removed).
Ellatte provides a great boost in Basic Stats as well as increasing the damage her Goddess allies deal for each buff placed on them, which works perfectly with Ludociel. Furthermore, her Unique works even as a Sub.
Tristan is a perfect Sub unit for the Goddess team since he increases the Defense-related stats for all of them based on how many Goddess allies he has. This works since the match starts so it's faster than Nanashi's Unique and Holy Relic.
His Unique ability increases all allies' Attack-related stats by 10% and decreases all enemies' Pierce Rate, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage by 15%. He is a good sub-slot support for teams that could use a bit more attack power while decreasing the offense of the enemy team.
She can do a lot of damage and increase the stats of her allies once her Unique activates. Her Ultimate Move can also help in keeping alive her teammates while her Holy Relic can cleanse Infects to heal her allies upon activation.

This team aims to enable Albedo and punish her enemies by either forcing them to attack into a deadly counter and receive several debuffs. If they choose to not attack into her, they'll receive massive damage on their next turn thanks to the debuffs. Also she works as an impassable obstacle to deal with Tyr.
Her Unique can make her a target since the start of the battle even if you get the second turn. Her Counters which have Amplify work great with her Unique along with Nanashi providing extra buffs on her.
Her Source of Pain allows her allies to deal more damage and by her mere presence she will create a more complicated battlefield for the enemy by making them hesitate to attack. Even if they decide to attack a single enemy to not receive many stacks of Source of Pain, she can place them herself by attacking.
The secondary DPS of the team. The end goal is to wipe the enemy team with his AOE Weak Point, his stats will be increased by Albedo and Nanashi to deal massive damage to the enemy. His Unique will also force enemies to attack into him in turn 1. If they don't have an AOE or a way to remove the Taunt buff on him, enemies will receive Albedo's debuff.
His Holy Relic increases the stats of his allies while providing buffs which will provide much needed defensive stats to the team. Also, his Unique provides extra buffs to Albedo which she can use to increase the power of her counters.
His Unique allows him to be useful as a secondary win condition by instakilling an enemy. Furthermore, he reduces the damage his allies receive granting massive durability to his team.
His Unique ability increases all allies' Attack-related stats by 10% and decreases all enemies' Pierce Rate, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage by 15%. He is a good sub-slot support for teams that could use a bit more attack power while decreasing the offense of the enemy team.
Both serve the same purpose: drag some damage out of Albedo by placing a Taunt on the highest CC enemy and reducing the overall damage output of the enemy. The main difference is that Ghislaine can easily break stances even with a rank 1 skill (something particularly useful against Sins Teams) while Freyja can help in keeping up an all out offensive.

This team is an all-out aggressive frame that quickly ends matches as soon as possible by either rushing Meliodas' or Ban's Ultimate Moves. It can also become tanky enough thanks to Zeldris' Unique working in conjuction with Ban's debuffs.
One of the best units in the game providing this team increased durability and an incredible damage output while decreasing the offensive capabilities of the enemy.
Festival Diane with her Holy Relic provide the team with an increase of 30% damage increase. Diane also has a Taunt to protect her allies from heavy single targets and when paired with Red Tarmiel link makes Diane a lot more threatening.
Nothing much can be said about this unit but the amount of damage and how scary he is on the field. Mostly on this team for the crazy amount of CC he can provide along with the firepower that his Ultimate Move can land together with his Holy Relic.
Since Light Transcendent Ban passive applies debuffs to the enemy with every skill he or his allies use Zeldris's Holy Relic and Unique proves to be a dominant backline unit in this team.
His Unique ability increases all allies' Attack-related stats by 10% and decreases all enemies' Pierce Rate, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage by 15%. He is a good sub-slot support for teams that could use a bit more attack power.

This team has High Durability from buffs and can cause immense damage to opponents. It works great if you go either first or second and has alternative sources of damage. Although it has fallen off a bit, it's still a solid team.
The main core of the team with a massive degree of utility. Can reduce the damage taken by his allies while at the same time granting a great offensive if enough turns pass, he can also hinder the healing abilities of your enemies. Placing Red Tarmiel as his link unit can turn him in a really difficult foe.
Purgatory Meliodas provides his Demon allies 20% damage reduction for each Shackles of Purgatory applied to Meliodas. Outstanding damage to pierce through the toughest enemies. Also can provide great retaliation either if your enemies play offensively or defensively.
Estarossa is the main support unit increasing the stats of the team thanks to his Darkness stats. With his Holy Relic can provide some extra degree of Ult Control
Excellent backline support unit decreasing enemies crit chance and crit damage. Demon Cusack also increases allies attack power by 4% for each Demon ally unit on the field.
Can provide greater protection in case any of your units fall, she will keep them alive and help them on keep dealing massive damage.

Ult Rush Team[]

This team relies on you rushing Light Escanor's Ultimate as soon as you can for an instant wipe, works the same for any other kind of dps but mainly you need a low level Elizabeth/Fraudrin to make the best out of this formation..
Twigod is used for his Holy Relic giving himself a 2-turn taunt and a 30% HP-related stat boost keeping the enemy off Escanor. Twigo equipped with Red Tarmiel can make one annoying damage sponge.
Can cleanse any debuffs from the team, including Green Gowther’s delayed Dissolve Debuff effect. Highly recommend having a level 1 Elizabeth as any sort of damage source will incapacitate her applying her passive to the team.
Her main use is her passive attack sealing, which occurs for 1 turn if she uses 2 cards within the same turn. Not only does she provide damage with her Flood card and Ultimate control with her Debuff card, but she offers a free attack seal on top of that. However enemies with cleanse or immunity can counter that
He serves the same role as Blue Summer Merlin but also can rank up the cards of his allies or his own. This helps even more if you don’t pull cards for Blue Summer Merlin, so Gowther himself can attack seal the enemy if needed.
Since you are attack sealing your opponents they can't do much against your bubble thus applying Roxy's passive and providing your team that 20% damage bonus.
Nanashi's holy relic providing all Unknown units offensive and defensive buff in the backline. Very valuable and highly recommended if running this team.
Unknown Team[]

This team is all about AOE debuffs and attack skills having the potential to one to two turning a match, although it may be a hard team to get since most of the units are limited collab units. With the introduction of Tyr in the game, this team even if still potent, fell off since he's a more accessible unit.
The main DPS on the team. Utilizing Filo’s passive dealing immense damage to debuff enemies. This is also in combination with Filo’s weak point card and Holy Relic. Filo also has a stun card on level 2 providing extra utility for the team.
This team will be using Merlin as a support unit applying most of the debuffs on the enemy and occasionally applying Element effects as well. Merlin also has a deplete skill preventing the enemy from Ultimate rushes.
Echidna's main role is to be a secondary damage dealer but also increase her own and Unknown allies' basic stats by 5% for each Unknown ally. Echidna having an Infect AOE card provides the synergy this team needs as it restricts recovery stats for the enemy team.
Nanashi is the key unit for this team, making this team high end. Nanashi's holy relic providing all Unknown units offensive and defensive buff in the backline. Very valuable and highly recommended if running this team.
A good backline for Debuff-heavy teams. He grants all allies 24% basic stats (Attack, Defense, and HP) so long as eight Debuffs of any kind are applied. With combination to Zeldris's Holy Relic to can cripple the enemies attack related stats by 10% when they use skills debuffed.

Naofumi Team[]

This team is all about defense being the best offense, it can comfortably go second.
Naofumi is the core of this team. Equipped with a taunt/stance skill keeping the enemy off teammates and in combination with Red Tarmiel can make Naofumi troublesome.
Raphtalia is this team's main damage dealer. Providing good raw damage but excellent damage on crits making quick work of even the highest of health enemies.
Gowther is on this team as a support rank-up skill and for his attack disable skill. Gowther’s rank-up skill can assist in Naofumi’s survivability by ranking up his stance skill or giving Raphtalia that rank-up to increase her card damage multiplier.
Used only for his passive granting of blue units 60% defense.
Ragnarok Team[]

This team is an all-out, damage-dealing, mostly one-turn to two-turn team and it does rely on going first. Also their Holy Relics are all required, this is in case you have all Ragnarok units but didn't get Tyr or Hel, it can help in low-mid PVP tiers.
The main DPS is based on Her AOE Weak Point skill. The skill combined with her Passive and Sigurd’s snatch ensures the AOE will kill or deal excellent damage.
The best backline for Debuff-heavy teams. He grants 24% basic stats (Attack, Defense, and HP) to all allies so long as eight Debuffs of any kind are applied.
Heavy DPS Team[]

This team revolves around Rimuru and Lillia bursting down single enemies quickly.
His main role is to not only assist in DPS with his Pierce card but also to restrict enemy healing with his Infect Debuff card. Perfect for countering any unit with Red or Blue Tarmiel link.
The best backline for Debuff-heavy teams. He grants 24% basic stats (Attack, Defense, and HP) to all allies so long as eight Debuffs of any kind are applied.
Green Awakened Mono DPS Team[]
Main
Sub
or
This team focuses on Green Awakened Mono dealing as much damage as possible, with Dark Traitor Meliodas helping her finish off any enemies.
Any team that uses Blue Ludociel is higher spending by default, but Green Awakened Mono is a unit most people won't have, much less built with duplicates or cosmetics.
With her Unique ability lowering the Crit Resistance of the enemy team, she can deal large amounts of damage quickly. This makes her the main DPS of the team.
With his Holy Relic increasing his damage and defensive ability to a respectable level, his attack increase for the entire team can make units who lack that necessary offensive support to hit their best.
The secondary DPS of the team. His role is to simply build his passive stat increases and then laying into the enemy team with his Amplify and Pierce card skills. The passive damage reduction of 8% (max 5 stacks) the team gains so long as two single-target attack skills are used is also a nice addition.
His Unique ability increases all allies' Attack-related stats by 10% and decreases all enemies' Pierce Rate, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage by 15%. He is a good sub-slot support for teams that could use a bit more attack power.

Small-Winged King Debuff Team[]
Main
Sub
This team has a heavy focus on Debuffing the enemy and making them take heavy damage from Debuffs every turn.
Her passive allows for Fairy allies to apply Shock on enemies, and allows for all allies to hit 30% harder. Plus, she can apply a buff on allies which increases HP-related stats, and allows for instant recovery from attacks within the same turn.
His main role is to not only assist in DPS with his Pierce card, but also to restrict enemy healing with his Infect Debuff card. Perfect for countering any unit with Red Tarmiel link unless they have a cleanse or immunity effect units.
The best backline for Debuff-heavy teams. He grants 24% basic stats (Attack, Defense, and HP) to all allies so long as eight Debuffs of any kind are applied.
Patience Team[]

This team is very budget friendly
This team focuses on being too tanky for the enemy to deal damage, or at least any amount of significant damage while Harlequin and Diane can attack in return.
All of these units will return to be obtained. Valenti is there for her Unique ability and nothing more. Diane is there for her tanking mostly; her Ultimate is a bonus. Harlequin even at 1/6 or 2/6 still packs quite a punch and could still win PvP battles. Evade food is a good recommendation for this team if you cannot reliably go first.
In this team, his shield is meant to assist in the tanking of the team, as he builds towards his Ultimate to wipe the enemy team. However, he is also capable of killing the enemy team outright if you get lucky and pull many rank 2 and rank 3 cards for him.
The best tank in the game with Red Tarmiel link, she provides defensive support for the entire team and makes it so units with the Dissolve card can not take away the main damage dealer’s Ultimate Move gauge orbs, unless it is an AOE Dissolve attack, which very few units have.
Her role is strictly for her Unique ability. The main thing that can shred the shield Blue Festival Fairy King Harlequin provides are Pierce cards, which Green Demon Lord Rimuru and Dark Traitor Meliodas have. Thus, Valenti’sobjective on the team is to make sure those two characters cannot do damage to King’s shield.
She is there for her Revive Unique ability, her strong shield, and her ability to stun the enemy. Her Ultimate is also very strong as higher Ultimate levels, however, she is easily killed so caution is advised when using her, particularly against Green Demon Lord Rimuru.
Can cleanse any Debuffs from the team, including Green Gowther’s delayed Dissolve Debuff effect, while simultaneously increasing damage dealt and decreasing damage received.
He can offer extra protection for the entire team with his strong Stance card, especially with his Holy Relic which furthers his damage reduction along with any ally using a Stance card (usually Green Sariel). Secondly, he also offers Ultimate control with his Dissolve attack card and a deadly Ultimate which can heal the entire team.
Due to her Power Strike attack card, she can hit exceptionally hard. With her Holy Relic, so long as a Debuff is active on the enemy, she will hit with 20% extra attack power. Moreover, she has an Infect Debuff card. Her Unique ability also allows her to have a unique form of survivability, as it prevents her from taking more than 40% of her HP in a single attack.
The main support/utility unit in the team. His passive increases allies' Attack-related stats by 2% and Max HP by 1% each time an ally uses a skill. (Limit 10 time(s), applies when entering battle), and allows for all allies to hit harder, tank better. Gowther’s Debuff card can seal the enemy’s hand depending on the rank of the card. Moreover, his Holy Relic provides even further attack buffs for the team, allowing his attack card to hit exceptionally hard.
A utility unit. Her Freeze card is her main reason for use, along with her Unique ability that does not allow for the same unit to attack her twice in one turn, lest they be frozen and her team has their Debuffs cleansed. As such, while Emilia herself is not a large threat, the annoyance of having your best units constantly being frozen every turn can make it so the enemy team can attack you essentially with no retaliation. Either that or you can Ult Rush without fear of losing units.
With her passive lowering the Crit Resistance of the enemy team, she can deal large amounts of damage quickly. This makes her the main DPS of the team.
With his Unique ability active, his ability to lower the Defense-related stats of the enemy allows for all his allies to hit very hard. Unfortunately, he does not hit hard at all.
His Unique ability increases all allies' Attack-related stats by 10% and decreases all enemies' Pierce Rate, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage by 15%. He is a good sub-slot support for teams that could use a bit more attack power.
Pierce Team[]
Main
Sub
This team relies on the Pierce rate stat to eliminate all enemies at the same time.
The main DPS of the team. His role is to build his passive stat increases and then laying into the enemy team with his Amplify and Pierce card skills. The passive damage reduction of 8% (max 5 stacks) the team gains so long as two single-target attack skills are used is also a nice addition.
Her Unique ability increases the Pierce rate of all her allies, which allows the Pierce team to work as well as it does. She can also remove Ultimate gauge from the entire team at once, which makes her handy against teams using Red Festival Diane.
He is the secondary DPS of the team, utilizing his own Pierce card to deal big damage to the enemy, and punishes the enemy team for attacking him with the utilization of his passive and Holy Relic.
His Unique ability increases all allies' Attack-related stats by 10% and decreases all enemies' Pierce Rate, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage by 15%. He is a good sub-slot support for teams that could use a bit more attack power.
