Episode 562[]
Boss Strategy[]
Something you will quickly notice is that the boss hits extremely hard, even on defensive-based units. Much like the boss in [Episode 563], this one can heal every turn, lifesteal a fair bit of HP, and has a damage cap. Worse off, this version of the Original Demon can also disable a unit even on a rank 1 skill, making hurting it even more difficult all while being unable to lower its Ultimate Move Gauge.
Considering all this, you should bring a Taunt unit of some kind to allow some time to deal damage to the boss. Due to the damage cap that is present, trying to brute force the stage will not work. You’ll be skill disabled or killed outright in many cases as DPS units typically are not built with defenses in mind.
Unfortunately, you are also required to bring a Ludociel unit of some kind, and it is recommended to throw whichever unit you choose in the sub-slot. Blue Ludociel is ineffective in PVE content, and Blue Festival Ludociel can’t do good damage to the boss due to its aforementioned damage cap and Unique Ability which reduces damage taken from Goddess characters. While the support can be nice, it isn’t worth the loss in DPS.
Best Heroes for Each Role[]
DPS Examples[]
- Light “The One” Ultimate Escanor
- Escanor is great because he can bypass the damage cap with his Scorch skill, making him an excellent choice to squeeze out some extra damage.
- Dark Purgatory Meliodas
- He can hit hard enough to hit the damage cap without issue with even low-rank skills. His Unique Ability will constantly activate as the boss attack three times per turn, and even then won’t be needed to hit the damage cap on his single-target skill.
- Dark Traitor Meliodas
- Much like the previous Meliodas, Traitor Meliodas can reach the damage cap easily so long as another DPS attacks first to grant him some buffs. However, the other Meliodas is much better suited for this stage.
Free-to-Play Options[]
Note: These units are meant to be used with Green Sariel, who can help deal damage to the boss through his Stance skill, making older units more viable. Otherwise, you’ll need one of the above DPS units alongside one of the older units to make it work without him.
- Green Escanor
- While this unit is exceptionally old, with his Holy Relic, he can serve the secondary DPS role quite easily due to having an Attribute advantage.
- Green Zaratras
- Zaratras can deal decent damage so long as he does not Crit against the boss.
- Blue “The One” Escanor
- While this Escanor isn’t an HP attribute unit, he can still deal enough damage to make a difference so long as you have a unit like Green Sariel that can pick up the slack between turns.
Taunt Examples[]
- Green Sariel
- Sariel, with his Holy Relic, is the best choice for a Taunt unit as he also can heal himself effectively with each Counter he gets. His Counter damage is also good enough to effectively negate the HP the boss Lifesteals every turn, making it easy to kill the boss in two turns without much difficulty with a plethora of units.
- Green Diane
- This Diane is a very old unit that can’t do any notable damage on her own but can serve the role of a tank just fine due to her being an HP-attribute unit. Plus, since her Taunt lasts for 3 turns (though she probably won’t live that long), it allows for you to attack three times in the second turn as opposed to only two. However, since she can’t deal damage at all, you’ll need a strong primary DPS to make up for it.
Episode 563[]
Boss Strategy[]
The main issue with this boss will be the fact that he can both heal himself by 30% every turn and deal high amounts of damage. Not only that, but he has immunity to all Debuff effects, so using Infect skills or Blue Festival Estarossa’s Darkness will be ineffective. On top of that, you can not remove the boss’s Ultimate gauge, leaving you vulnerable to being killed quickly.
You are also required to bring a Ludociel unit, and there are only two options on that front currently, Blue Festival Ludociel and Blue Ludociel. Blue Festival Ludociel is basically your only true option, as the original Blue Ludociel is no good in PVE whatsoever, deals poor damage, and would only work in the sub-slot to avoid him being on your frontline. Festival Ludociel can at least cleanse the Ignite Debuffs (the boss deals more damage to those afflicted with it), and make your allies tank and hit harder, along with a decent Ultimate. If you do not own Blue Festival Ludociel, try to use one from a fellow player if possible to make the fight easier.
First and foremost, it is highly recommended that you go first in this fight. While it does require a high CC level (300,000), use foods that can increase it such as HP food or Combat Class food. If that isn’t enough, either upgrade your units to level 100 (at least 95) or invest some resources into their cosmetics to give them an extra boost. This is due to the fact that the boss can very easily kill one of your units outright within the first turn. If you go first, you can use a Taunt unit to take the hits instead, allowing you to build your Ultimates and deal damage to the boss prior to him building up his own Ultimate.
Secondly, use units that have one or two strong single-target attack skills and a strong Ultimate. While the boss seals Ultimate Move use when you gain full Ultimate Gauge, Blue Festival Ludociel can cleanse this Debuff away. Bring a Taunt unit as well for tanking purposes. Many units can go in the sub-slot ranging from support units or even another DPS in the case of your tank going down (which can easily happen). Below are the options for each role:
Note: You do not want this fight going on for an extended period of time. End it as quickly as possible.
Best Heroes for Each Role[]
DPS Examples[]
- Light “The One” Ultimate Escanor
- Escanor can deal exceptional damage to the boss, particularly if you can get higher-rank single-target skills.
- Blue “The One” Escanor
- Escanor can deal exceptional damage to the boss, but also offers an amazing Death Ultimate, which can hit the 25% damage cap twice, making it possible to kill the boss in one turn even at full HP.
- Dark Traitor Meliodas
- A great damage dealer that pairs well with Blue Festival Ludociel due to his Amplify skill. His Unique Ability can also offer some extra defensive utility.
Taunt Examples[]
A big point to note is that you want Taunt units that have a Taunt skill that lasts at least 2 turns on a rank 1 skill. This is because if a hero only has a 1 turn taunt, you will need to constantly replenish it, making you rely on RNG and wasting an opportunity to attack within your own allied turn. It is also recommended that you give these units either Red Tarmiel or Blue Tarmiel as an association to increase their survivability.
- Red Festival Queen Diane
- A great thing about this unit is that as she takes more damage, she can also dish it back out quite well. Moreover, as a modern unit, she can’t be killed as easily.
- Red Halloween Matrona
- While much weaker than Diane offensively, she still can tank quite well and has a 3 turn taunt to boot. Plus, she can heal the team when she recovers HP at the start of the allied turn, making her better with Blue Tarmiel’s Grace.
Other Options[]
This is specifically if you want to try a more offensive-oriented strategy with either Ludociel unit in the sub-slot.
- Green Halloween Gowther / Red Gowther
- While neither of these Gowthers are offering any damage or tanking ability, they both offer a Rank-up skill. Green Halloween Gowther’s Unique Ability is better, but Red Gowther’s Unique Ability can be utilized as the boss only has single-target attack skills, allowing Red Gowther to get some stacks to boost allied Attack stats. Ideally, you’ll get some strong Rank 3 attack skills for your DPS units. A built Taunt unit is essential if you choose this method.
