Summary[]
We all start at some point, whether with a bought account, an account borrowed/gifted by someone, or a brand new one. In this guide, we will cover the best moves to make with your account to maximize its potential.
Getting heroes[]
Since you’re starting, your main goal is moving with the missions; these will give you resources, stamina, and experience, but more importantly: heroes. During the tutorial, you will be granted a guaranteed SSR hero. Look at the tier lists in PVP teams for current and above units (best heroes in the game), as these will be the best ones to try and obtain if they are currently available on a banner.
Various banners will increase the chances of getting specific units, some of which are tied to limited-time events. All banners have a “Featured Unit” with a higher pull rate than the rest. There is also a daily deal that will unlock 1 free pull for watching 1 ad. Every time you pull in featured banners, either individually or in a multi, a “pity bar” will increase by the number of diamonds spent in that pull. When it reaches certain milestones, you will get either a random SSR unit or the featured unit for free (or you will get to choose the unit you get; it depends on the banner). There are several types of banners; let’s give a quick look at them:
Regular Banners[]
These are the average banner; they can come with a seasonal unit, a regular unit, or even a Ragnarok unit. The pity bar’s max is 600 for these banners, with a milestone at 300, where you usually get a random SSR unit. Ragnarok banners are usually a must since they have units that can be useful for endgame content and PVP.
Festival Banners[]
Then, Festival banners come. The pity bar’s max is 900 for these, with 2 milestones at 300 and 600, giving a random SSR unit in both. These are the banners where you should put most of your resources given that these units are usually well-rounded and stay relevant for a long time, and are helpful in much different content in the game, such as Traitor Meliodas, and Light “The One” Ultimate Escanor.
Step-up Banners[]
In Step-up banners you can get the featured unit with just 240 diamonds (these usually include 1 or 2 steps with a multiple pull at the cost of just 1 diamond instead of the usual 30). These are pretty uncommon, but it’s always worth pulling on them twice for 31 gems.
Starter Rush Banner[]
For new (and returning players), there’s also the Starter Rush Banner, where you can get several suitable units for all your needs and even pick between some Festival Units, the banner will give you a free multiple pull each day for 15 days where you will be able to pick 2 units. You have to perform 5 multis to choose between the final 2 Festival Units, which is a fantastic deal.
Collab Banners[]
Sometimes, there will be collaboration events with other TV shows or anime properties. These are time-limited and will typically run for about two weeks before going away. If you are on the fence about starting the game, this is the best time to start if you are a fan of the collab, as the collaboration units are great characters at their release, such as Shield Hero, which made the labyrinth at that moment far easier. Although these units have great potential, they usually require a high Ultimate Move level which can require several rotations. Also, their Cosmetics are only available for money, which can reduce their power unless you’re willing to spend some.
Here is a list of some collabs that have already happened:
- Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World (re-run)
- King of Fighters ‘98 (re-run)
- That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (re-run)
- Stranger Things
- Attack on Titan
- Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World
- King of Fighters ‘98
- That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
If you miss any of these events or any that happen in the future, don’t be discouraged since Collabs can return.
Costumes[]
Speaking of costumes (or cosmetics), your units won’t be complete without them. These can be bought in the Sacred Treasure Shop, and apply a bonus in stats for the unit when equipped. Each unit can have a maximum of 5 outfits for each slot (5 for the head, 5 for the weapon, and 5 for the outfit). Cosmetics are a pivotal part of Ungeared PVP since you only get their bonus and not that of your gear. Each of them have a different cost depending of the initial rarity, 10 diamonds for each SR piece, 20 diamonds for each SSR piece and 30 diamonds for each UR piece. Some special outfits can be bought with Hawk Pass points, costing 950 points for each SSR piece and 1400 points for each UR piece.
Equipment[]
Last but not least: equipment. This is your primary source of stats, each piece of equipment forms part of a set, and if your hero equips a complete set, they will get a bonus in their stats. Try different combinations and see what fits better, depending on your units and play style. Upgrading and engraving it will give you even more stats.
