Summary[]
LR Escanor is the second LR rarity unit available in the game. Released on July 17, 2023, this upgrade overhauls all Escanor’s skills, granting them new effects on top of the old ones, making him one potent unit once again and a massive asset for the Human team while at the same time, adding new mechanics. Although Escanor is mainly an offensive unit since his entire kit revolves around dealing massive damage himself, he can also allow his teammates to shine by increasing the damage their enemies receive, thanks to his Unique, which applies the Eternal Flame effect. This is applied on any enemy who didn’t use a skill during the enemy’s turn (like Melascula’s Commandment of Faith). Each stack of it will also increase Escanor’s Attack-related stats. On the other hand, when Escanor reaches full gauge, it will Remove Buffs and Debuffs from him and make him immune to any of them while he remains in that state. His first skill has its damage increased and keeps the ability to fill his Ultimate Move Gauge, but it also receives a new effect: Blast, which increases the damage Escanor deals with this skill for each Eternal Flame stack on the target.
His second skill doesn’t have an increase in damage. Still, it does get an upgrade in its effects, being able to Remove Buffs from enemies since rank one and will place more ignites per each rank. 2 Ignites in rank 1, 3 on rank 2 and 4 on rank 3, making him a threat for any enemy who relies on buffs to fight.
His Ultimate Move is still a massive damage skill, but it will also Ignore 100% of the Crit Resistance of the target, almost guaranteeing a critical strike.
Pros[]
- He can remove buffs since rank 1.
- He can fill his Ultimate Gauge to rush and spam his Ultimate Move.
- He can increase the damage his enemies receive with the gray debuffs he places on enemies.
- If he gets disabled by Attack disable skills, he can just rush his Ultimate to counter it.
Cons[]
- He requires a considerable amount of materials to get him.
- His allies can’t buff him once he fills his Ultimate Move gauge.
- The most restrictive Unique in the game: to be played at its fullest potential must be played in a full Human team (including the Sub Slot), which significantly limits the hero pool.
Skill Review[]
Elegant Blow - His primary damage-dealing skill, this new version has the Blast effect, which increases the damage it deals based on how many Eternal Flames there are on the target. It can fill Escanor’s Ultimate Move Gauge on higher ranks, effectively helping him to spam his Ultimate Move.
Cruel Sun - His signature move. This version of Cruel Sun can remove buffs since rank one, effectively nullifying the primary strength of heroes that rely on buffs to deal damage (units who have Amplify skills such as Dark Traitor Meliodas), units who use buffs as part of their game plan to keep themselves alive (Blue Chandler with his Holy Relic). It also places 2 Ignite effects, increasing the damage the enemy receives for each stack. Cruel Sun can apply a maximum of 4 Ignite stacks on higher ranks in one single attack.
Ultimate Move: Punishment - His most vital skill. It doesn’t have a special effect but a high multiplier. Thanks to this upgrade, it will also ignore 100% of the target’s Crit Resistance, making it almost a guaranteed critical strike.
Ultimate Move: Combined Attack Gentleman’s Dignity - Escanor’s Ultimate Move changes when linked with Merlin, increasing even further its damage. The ignoring of Crit Resistance will remain the same.
Unique: The One at the Pinnacle - Escanor’s Unique significantly changed after this upgrade. It keeps the previous quality of removing all debuffs and buffs from Escanor once his Ultimate Gauge is filled and makes him immune to all effects once he gets it.
On top of it, now it applies an Eternal Flames debuff on all enemies who don’t use a skill each turn (akin to Melascula’s Commandment). Furthermore, if you use a full Human team (including the Sub, which makes it highly restrictive), Escanor will place this debuff on all enemies once every turn, even if they use skills. Each of these debuffs on enemies will increase Escanor’s Attack-related stats and the damage the enemy takes for each stack, allowing for more aggressive plays with the rest of the team.
These debuffs are gray, so enemies can’t remove them with any kind of Debuff Removal or avoid them with Debuff Immunity.
Gear Recommendation[]
Escanor is a fantastic DPS unit that can do great with Attack/Defense to keep him oppressing enemies for as long as he’s on the battlefield. It also works well with his Holy Relic since that extra Defense will add more damage to him. Attack/Crit Damage is also acceptable to guarantee some kills.
Equipment Set[]
- Onslaught (Attack) / Iron Wall (Defense)
OR
- Onslaught (Attack) / Congeniality (Crit Damage)
Sub-stats[]
- Bracer / Ring: Attack
- Necklace / Earring: Defense
- Belt / Rune: HP
Usage[]
Escanor’s highly restrictive Unique (which plays a big part in his kit) makes him unfit to be used outside of PVP, even when it works in all kinds of content. He’s an excellent choice with a mono-Human team.
PVP[]
Escanor is an excellent choice in a mono-Human team, including Blue Roxy of Madness, Light Transcendent Ban, and Green Halloween Eastin or Green Excalibur Arthur, to increase his stats over time since LR Escanor will be killing a lot of units. He can fit in a lot of combinations but keep in mind that if you want to use his Unique to its full extent, you should use a Human only team (including the Sub slot).
PVE[]
On the other hand, Escanor is an average unit for PVE.
Death Match: He can be decent for Gray Demon and Bellmoth if required, but there are better choices than him.
Demonic Beast Battle: Escanor is not a good choice for this content due to his restrictive Unique aside from a full mono-human team in Skoll and Hati Demonic Beast Battle due to Red Thonar.
Farming (Fort Solgres): Since he has only single target skills, he’s not valuable for flash farming Fort Solgres.
Overall, LR Green Escanor is an excellent rebirth for an old unit to bring it back to life, a fantastic addition to any version of the Human team.

Story[]
Escanor is the Lion's Sin of Pride of the Seven Deadly Sins, the former second prince of the Kingdom of Castellio, and the man known throughout the Kingdom of Liones as "The Strongest Holy Knight". His Sacred Treasure is the Divine Axe, Rhitta, and his inherent power is called "Sunshine", which made him renowned for gaining immense power during the day, and gradually becoming weaker with the setting of the Sun, leaving him frail and submissive at night.
