Introduction[]

In the Hero Arena, you can battle prebuilt AI teams in order to gain Hero Awakening Coins which you can exchange for Legendary Seals and other important items. There are multiple difficulties with varying amounts of CC being recommended for your team before you take on each respective difficulty. This is important as you should really try to go first when challenging the enemy teams.

Some things to note are as follows:

  • PVP-only Unique Abilities work in this mode such as Blue Ludociel’s Unique Ability or Commandments but however, any Uniques that don't work in PVP will have the same treatment and not be active.
  • All four members of the team are on the battlefield at once.
  • If you are defeated, you can resume the fight with a new team without the enemy team regaining health.
  • If you lose a team member in one fight and enter the next battle, they will not be revived, and clearing a series of battles will have the remaining units unavailable for the remainder of battles requiring new teams in each series of battles.
  • Restarting means resetting the Tower and not the series of battles
  • Enemy teams have their Holy Relic abilities and can have Graces as their association hero, such as Red Tarmiel.
  • Certain kinds of heroes can gain extra boosts per season (i.e. human race allies).
  • The enemy teams are generally the same on every difficulty with little variability.
  • In Challenger and Champion difficulties you can't have linked units, while in Master and below it's possible.

The Hero Arena functions in seasons, similar to Labyrinth. You can only beat the Hero Arena once per week, and each season lasts four weeks. As such, make sure you pick the hardest difficulty you can beat as you can not infinitely farm the easier stages.

Team Building[]

Ideally, you want to build teams that have good synergy and this will usually be teams that already work well in PVP. Essentially, this mode is PVP but with stronger AI opponents instead of human-controlled enemies.

If you are someone who only ever built a single kind of team, such as the Unknown Race team or Goddess team, then this mode will leave you exposed and unprepared. This is because when one series of battles is completed, the team you used to beat it becomes unusable in subsequent series. For example, as there are three series of battles you need to complete with five enemy teams each, if you used the Goddess team to complete the first series of teams, they will not be allowed to be used for the second and third series. However, they can still be used as Association units.

With that said, you will need at least three teams minimum that are well-built to beat the toughest difficulty that applies to you. There is no “best” team as that really depends on what characters you own and the teams you can create around them, but a good rule of thumb is to make teams that are great in PVP, as mentioned before. As an example, the Demon Team consisting of Dark Purgatory Meliodas, Blue Festival Berserk Estarossa, Blue Ominous Nebula Zeldris, and say Blue Chandler (or any other unit you want to fill the fourth slot on the team) will function quite well together. The Demon Team itself is already a meta team in PVP, so it overlaps in this mode. It isn’t a hard rule to follow but can guide your hand. Also, beware of using sub-slot support units such as Red Ragnarok Ban as they will be on the field, and generally, these units are not good offensively or defensively which means you will inevitably have too many of their skills in your hand, which can cause some frustration.

If possible, since your team’s health carries over from battle to battle, units that can lifesteal effectively or heal the team are a great help. The Goddess team functions quite well at both of these things if you are using Light Eternal Rebirth Elizabeth with the Archangels. Elizabeth will heal the team when her Unique Ability is activated, and the other Goddesses can lifesteal tons of health. This makes them quite an effective team, though the members of the team are quite limited in availability.

Something you want to generally avoid is building teams that are super focused on offense with little defense. Assuming you are trying a difficulty that is actually hard for you to beat and not one that is too easy for you, the enemies can deal quite a lot of damage to your team and those kinds of teams that utilize Blue Ludociel in some fashion are very squishy. These are best saved for a time when your main team was defeated and you only have one or two battles left at most. They can function as good teams to finish a battle with, but they do not want to be in longer, sustained fights.

In this season you can use these teams:

Tower 1[]

Goddess Team
Lmael Rtarmiel Rsariel LRrpelizabeth
or
Relizabeth
  • Light Mael of Sunshine
    • Primary damage dealer on the team. His Unique Ability also helps the teams defensively by reducing the damage they receive.
  • LR Red Princess Elizabeth
    • She can heal her allies and provide extra defensive stats as well as keep rushing her Ultimate to maintain to a high level the HP of her team. Holy Relic required.
  • Red Sariel
    • Can increase the stats of all his allies since the beginning of the battle as well as serving as a decent damage dealer.
  • Red Tarmiel
    • Support unit with buffs, Ultimate sealer, and Disable passive. Also his Unique paired with his Grace allow him to increase the stats of all his allies.

Keep in mind that here you can use Green Ellatte for the Seasonal Team.

Tower 2[]

Unknown Team
Balbedo Rshalltear Bnanashi Rfreyr

Alternative Team - Human Team
Gjillian Gearthur Ltranscendentban Lrgescanor
  • Blue Albedo
    • She can set a Taunt since turn 1. She can quickly snowball out of control with her Counter with Amplify thanks to Nanashi's Unique.
  • Red Shalltear
    • With Berserk active she can easily destroy any enemy. Furthermore, her Unique allows her to heal her allies.
  • Blue Nanashi
    • His Unique provides extra buffs to Albedo so she can deal extra damage with her Counters. Also, his Holy Relic increases the Basic Stats of all his Unknown Race allies.
  • Red Freyr
    • He can increase the stats of his allies over time and serve as a secondary damage dealer. His Holy Relic also allows his allies to deal more damage and further increase the damage they deal with single target attacks.

Tower 3[]

Hybrid Team
Dpmeliodas Bonzeldris Rmelascula Rhmatrona
or or
Rskadi Gmatrona

Alternative Team - Unknown Team
Bnanashi Gshuna Dqhel Balbedo
or
Rshalltear
  • Dark Purgatory Meliodas
    • With True Magic active, he can easily wipe out the enemy team. Shackles of Purgatory provide the team with extra protection.
  • Red Melascula
    • Mainly used here to synergize with Matrona, using Melascula’s passive to give immortality to Matrona.
  • Red Halloween Matrona
    • With the help of Melascula, you can take advantage of Matrona’s passive and get massive heals from the passive.

Backup Teams[]

Sins Team
LRrlvmeliodas Light The One Ultimate Escanor Icon Rfdiane Bfkharlequin
  • LR Lostvayne Meliodas
    • A powerhouse of damage is also equipped with an AOE Infect card for Red Tarmiel links and health recovery-related stats.
  • Red Festival Diane
    • Tank unit on the team. Diane is able to taunt the enemies and bait enemies into attacking the Red Tarmiel link.

Ult Rush Team
Rpban Belizabeth Rearthur Rtwigo
  • Red Purgatory Ban
    • Secondary DPS of the team. At a high Ultimate level, he can possibly one-shot enemy teams. His Detonate skill also can deal exceptional damage. Ban's Buff skill can also heal the team while increasing their max HP.
  • Blue Princess Elizabeth
    • Mainly here for her passive when she is defeated on the field and the full heal to your teammates.
  • Red Excalibur Arthur
    • Arthur is a good tank unit that reduces enemy Ultimate Move Gauge when attacked. His Unique Ability also serves as great Human ally support.
  • Red Twigo
    • Holy Relic required for sustain. His Unique Ability helps increase Strength (Red) attribute ally health by 30%.

Please note that while the units listed are some of the best, you can experiment with the teams and substitute whoever you need to. Just make sure the character you replace fills the same role as the original. For example, units such as Light Mael of Sunshine and Blue Festival Berserk Estarossa are the linchpin of their respective teams, so they can't be replaced or the team won't work nearly as well. However, units such as Blue Nanashi can be replaced by Green Ram. Refer to the PVP teams page for more team ideas.

Seasonal Team Ideas[]

Goddess Seasonal Team
Lmael Rtarmiel Gellatte LRrpelizabeth
or
Relizabeth
  • Green Ellatte provides all units with a 10% basic stats increase and a special bonus.

Picking a Difficulty[]

When picking a difficulty to take on, make sure it is one that allows you to out CC the enemy teams. The hardest difficulty requires your team to have 340,000 CC to go first, as an example. This can vary depending on how long you have been playing, so choose the highest you can manage with all three teams. To reiterate, make sure all three of your chosen teams can manage the CC requirement. Going second in this mode will just prove to make the battles so much harder and seemingly unwinnable.

Challenger[]

Gear recommendations for going second Challenger[]

Considering the difficulty of this fight for most players gear requirement is strict. Having Crit Resistance / Crit Defense gear is the name of the game here. Pictures down below to get an idea of how to gear units. Gear sets can be swapped around to your liking or what fits your needs. Considering Tyr is in this season it will take a couple of resets to either not receive a critical strike from Tyr or receive a "low roll" critical strike.
