Festival Gowther was released on the Global servers on October 11th, 2021. Also known as [Restored Emotions] Hijack Gowther, this unit is depicted wearing Gowther’s Enchanted Armor.
Gowther, as we know him, was first created 3,000 years ago by a great mage. As a doll, he was created to be a puppet extension of his wheelchair-bound creator to the outside world. He was once a member of the Demon King’s [The Ten Commandments], but he disappeared during the Holy War. Before disappearing, Gowther was seen explaining to Fraudrin that Meliodas had betrayed his race due to his love for Elizabeth, but Fraudrin didn’t understand.
Near the end of the Holy War, Gowther tricked Melascula into creating an entrance to the Demon King’s prison, where his true demon form had been held captive for 500 years. Once freed, the mage Gowther decided to release the doll Gowther and granted him a heart, a will, and a mind of his own. His intent was for the doll Gowther to be able to live and exist on his own, and he planned to end the Holy War himself.
In order to end the Holy War, mage Gowther used a forbidden spell that altered the memories of an individual and altered the memories of everyone about this individual. However, completing this spell required more magical power than mage Gowther possessed and so he needed to ask doll Gowther for his help. He asked doll Gowther for forgiveness for making him bear such a terrible sin with him, a sin that Gowther kept quiet until Ludociel’s return.
Mage Gowther knew that the Archangel Mael was the Goddess Clan’s greatest force, and losing him would cause the Goddess Clan to use the seal of the Coffin of Eternal Darkness and end the Holy War. The two Gowthers together used the forbidden spell to alter the memories of everyone about the Archangel Mael and gave him a new identity as the second son of the Demon King, Estarossa, Mael’s supposed killer.
The immense amount of life force needed to power this spell resulted in the mage Gowther dying in front of doll Gowther. With his dying breath, mage Gowther asked doll Gowther to realize the dream that he could not. Doll Gowther fled the Demon Realm and seemingly disappeared from the remainder of the war. With the disappearance of doll Gowther and the death of mage Gowther, Fraudrin took the new position of the Commandment of Selflessness with [The Ten Commandments].
Many years later after the Holy War’s end, Gowther was seen in the dungeons of Liones Castle by Princes Nadja Liones. Nadja was in very poor health and cannot leave the castle, but she shared with Gowther a book about a magician named Merdol. In an effort to cheer her up, Gowther grew his hair to look like Merdol. He revealed to Nadja that he is a doll, and showed her the magical heart that he had been given to make him who he is.
Nadja’s brother, Bartra Liones, had foreseen the arrival of Gowther and permitted Gowther to remain by Nadja’s side as she continued to grow weaker and weaker. Over time, Nadja and Gowther fell in love with each other. Gowther told Nadja that his creator died asking him to make his final dream come true, and Nadja then realized that her dream was to spend her last moments of life in a moment of passion with Gowther. Nadja eventually died in Gowther’s arms, and he tried desperately to save her by implanting his artificial heart, although his attempts failed. When the Liones guards found him, Gowther was accused of forcing Nadja into vile sex acts and sentenced him to death as the Sin of Lust. Gowther was so heartbroken that he decided to discard his magical heart and use his power to erase his own memories, with the intent to live like a simple doll and never have to feel such pain again.
After this, Gowther joined [The Seven Deadly Sins]. Merlin gave Gowther an enchanted armor, which Gowther wore at all times to compensate for the loss of his erased emotions and memories. Gowther’s enchanted armor was a full silver body armor with huge spiked metal shoulder plates and a helm featuring a pair of horns with one broken. The enchanted armor allowed Gowther to better control his powers and granted him increased physical strength. Since he wore his armor at all times, most of the members of [The Seven Deadly Sins] never knew his true appearance outside of the armor until many years later.
During the present-day battle with [The Seven Deadly Sins], Gowther mentally reinhabits his enchanted armor in an effort to recover his memories and his emotions. He recovers everyone’s memories about Mael/Estarossa and ends the battle between [The Ten Commandments] and [The Four Archangels].
Festival Gowther as a unit is an incredible utility for PvP, although he has limited usage outside of PvP.
- Can deplete enemy’s Ultimate Move Gauge
- Disables Buff skills of the enemy and prevents the use of skills which are Rank 2 or higher
- Decreases the enemy’s skill ranks
- Deletes cards from the pool of all enemy skills
- Low Attack and Recovery Rate stats
- Pulverize Buff requires additional Ultimate Move Gauge orbs to be effective
- Ultimate Move Gauge depletion requires the hero to have at least four Ultimate Move Gauge orbs
- Requires high Ultimate Move level for effective damage
- Primary benefit is as a utility and not as a damage-dealer
- Limited utility outside of PvP
Armored Breaker - Festival Gowther’s attack skill inflicts Pulverize damage, which deals an additional 20% additional damage for each orb in the hero’s Ultimate Move Gauge. Thus this attack becomes more effective the more orbs that Festival Gowther has in his gauge. Additionally, if he has at least four orbs in his Ultimate Move Gauge, Festival Gowther is able to deplete the enemy’s Ultimate Move Gauge orbs.
Jack Light - Festival Gowther’s Debuff skill is his best attribute. He is able to disable the Buff skills of all enemies, disable the use of skills that are Rank 2 or higher, and decrease the skills ranks at the end of the enemy’s turn. All of this can be done for one turn with his Rank 1 skill. At Rank 2, he also disables Ultimate Moves, and at Rank 3 he disables all skills of all enemies except for Debuff skills.
Ultimate Move - Blackout Arrow - Festival Gowther’s Ultimate Move is similar to Red Purgatory Ban’s in that it inflicts damage equal to a portion of the hero’s Max HP. However, the damage that is dealt by Festival Gowther is substantially lower than that from Red Purgatory Ban. In addition to the damage dealt, Festival Gowther deletes skills from the pool of all enemy skills. Depending on the enemy, it may be advantageous to not use Festival Gowther’s Ultimate Move and rather to keep his Ultimate Move Gauge full in order to consistently deplete the enemy’s Ultimate Move Gauge orbs.
Unique - Alter Ego - This Unique ability is similar to Green Halloween Gowther’s Unique ability. However, Festival Gowther’s Unique has a lower Attack stat increase than Green Halloween Gowther but adds the max HP bonus. Additionally, any unit can be used with Festival Gowther to activate his passive, whereas Green Halloween Gowther requires using different races on his team to activate his passive.
Festival Gowther is not an offensive unit, and so it is recommended to equip him with HP and Defense UR gear to assure his survivability.
One of the best aspects of Gowther is that his Rank 3 Debuff skill disables all skills of all enemies except Debuff Skills (including Ultimate Moves). This Rank 3 skill also disables skills which are Rank 2 or higher and decreases skill ranks at the end of the enemy's turn. This restricts enemies to only being able to use Rank 1 Debuff cards. However, one downside of Festival Gowther is that he lacks a skill rank-up card, unlike Green Halloween Gowther and Red Gowther.
An incredible team for using Festival Gowther is to use him with Summer Merlin or Festival Merlin, Blue Emilia, and Green Ram. Green Ram in the sub-slot increases all of the other units’ basic stats since they are all from the Unknown race. Gowther offers substantial boosts to Festival Merlin’s Attack, allowing her to deal damage more effectively.
Festival King, Festival Gowther, Demon Hendrickson, and Festival Zeldris as a team make for a unique Debuff team. Festival King applies the Poison effect. Demon Hendrickson is able to apply both a Shock and Bleed effect on the enemy. Festival Zeldris in the sub-slot increases all allies’ basic stats for up to 8 Debuffs that are applied to the enemy. This requires a significant amount of RNG though to get viable skills.
Another viable team is to use Festival Gowther with Blue Elizabeth and Hawk, Festival Ludociel, and Sariel. With this team, Festival Ludociel and Sariel serve as the primary damage dealers, and Blue EliHawk is able to counter the enemy’s usage of Debuffing units by turning Debuffs into Buffs.

Gowther is the Goat's Sin of Lust of the Seven Deadly Sins. Gowther is a doll who, according to Merlin, was created by a great mage from long ago. Designed to be an extension of his creator with the outside world, he was once a member of the Demon Clan's Ten Commandments, the group of elite warriors that served directly under the Demon King. However, during the Holy War he disappeared for unknown reasons.
