Episode 118 (How Diane Remembers It) takes place during Chapter 7.  In this chapter, Merlin says everyone must increase their Combat Class if they are to face against [The Ten Commandments]. How will they achieve this goal?

Storyline and Context[]

Merlin begins by assessing the strength of everyone on the team.  The captain’s Combat Class is 3370.  Diane’s Combat Class is 3250.  Gowther’s Combat Class is 3100.  Her own Combat Class is 4710.  King’s Combat Class is 4190. Ban’s Combat Class is 3220.  This brings the total Combat Class of six of [The Seven Deadly Sins] to 21840.

In contrast, the strength of [The Ten Commandments], when considering that Galland’s Combat Class is 26000 with his magic depleted and it is assumed that the others are as strong as Galland, then their total Combat Class would be 260000.  Once they completely regain their magical powers, it will be more than 300000. Furthermore, if they summon Albions and other lower-ranked Demons, then the outlook will be very bleak for [The Seven Deadly Sins].

Thus, in order to be successful, Merlin shares that it is imperative that Elizabeth and Arthur’s magical powers be awakened, much to the chagrin of Arthur.

Arthur saddened

Additionally, Merlin shares that it now must be time to search for “him” (The Lion Sin of Pride, Escanor of [The Seven Deadly Sins], and also the final member of the team).

Meanwhile, King flies to look for Diane to tell her how he feels.

King looking for Diane

When he finds Diane, she is sitting on the ground, and she does not recognize King, Hawk, or Elizabeth.  She recognizes Meliodas only, although she refers to him as “Meliodas” rather than “Captain”.

Diane not recognizing King

Meliodas realizes that Diane called him by his first name only when he first met her.  She also only recalls King as a “scruffy blimp of a Fairy”, rather than his normal “little boy” appearance.

King scruffy blimp

Merlin, Meliodas, Elizabeth, and King deliberate the situation in Merlin’s lab.  Meanwhile, in Camelot’s Castle, Diane breaks free and escapes.  Gowther chimes in that the answer is “easy”, and that Diane has headed to where she used to be before she joined [The Seven Deadly Sins].  Gowther then explains that he erased Diane’s memories using his “Lost World” ability.  Wishing to learn about emotions, Gowther had previously manipulated Guila’s memories. Diane strongly condemned Gowther for this action by stating “if you think memories are something you could just change, then you’ve got another thing coming!”  So, as a test, Gowther erased Diane’s memories.  He callously points out that her memories were, as predicted, quite easily removed, as, after all, memories are nothing more than bits of information.

Saddened, King asks Gowther what he felt when he erased Diane’s memories.

King Diane little girl

Gowther doesn’t understand the question, because he doesn’t recognize the difference between feelings and memories.  In a panic, King, Meliodas, Elizabeth, and Hawk run off at the end of the episode to go look for Diane.

Episode Boss Battles and Recommended Heroes[]

There are three battles during this episode:

  1. Fading Memories
  2. Missing
  3. Reasons for Memories

Fading Memories[]

The first battle is fought against Diane.  In this part of the storyline, Diane is very aggressive towards Elizabeth because she does not know who she is or why she is with Meliodas.

[Strange Gaze] Diane is level 118 and of the Speed attribute.  She has 8263 Attack, 4671 Defense, and 193765 HP.

She has the following passive abilities:

  • Skill Use Increase: Number of Skill Uses increased by 2
  • Debuff Cancel: Removes Debuffs from the hero during the allies’ turn
  • Energy of the Earth: All allies increase Pierce Rate by 8% at the start of the next turn when taking damage (Limit 5 times)
  • Incapacitation Immunity: Immune to Freeze/Petrify/Stun

She has the following active skills:

  • Skill 1: “Metal Fist”
    • Rank 1: Inflicts damage equal to 220% of Attack of one enemy
    • Rank 2: Removes Stances from one enemy.  Inflicts damage equal to 220% of Attack, then disables Stance Skills for 1 turn
    • Rank 3: Removes Stances from one enemy.  Inflicts damage equal to 360% of Attack, then disables Stance Skills for 2 turns
  • Skill 2: “Sand Whirl”
    • Rank 1: Decreases Defense-related stats of all enemies by 20% for 2 turns

  • Ultimate Move: “Stone Blast”
    • Inflicts Pierce damage equal to 490% of Attack on all enemies

Due to the content in the storyline, Elizabeth is a required hero for the first battle (any Elizabeth variant will do).  Since Diane is the only enemy, using Green Jericho or Green Meliodas can help to clear this level out easily.  When using Green Meliodas, trigger his Outburst Counter when his HP is under 50% for maximum effectiveness.

      • Rank 1: Inflicts damage equal to 300% of Attack on one enemy
    • Ultimate Move: “Heavy Blow”
      • Inflicts damage equal to 500% of Attack on one enemy.  Stuns for 1 turn
    • Unique: Attack Increase: Increases all allies’ Attack by 10%

Based on the storyline, Diane is a required hero for the second battle.  Since there are multiple rounds with multiple enemies, Red Howzer can help to clear through this battle quickly.

Reasons for Memories[]

The final battle for this episode is against Gowther after he has erased Diane’s memories and does not appear to be the least bit regretful.  He is level 120 with a Strength attribute.  He has 8507 Attack, 4746 Defense, and 211083 HP. He has the following passive abilities:

  • Trickery: Increases all allies’ Attack by 10% at the start of the next turn if the hero doesn’t take damage.  Limit 5 times and resets upon taking damage
  • Auto-Recovery: Allies recover 15% of diminished HP for each Debuff removed from self
  • Debuff Cancel: Removes Debuffs from the hero during the allies’ turn
  • Skill Use Increase: Number of Skill Uses increased by 2

He has the following active skills:

  • Skill 1: “Arrow Shot”
    • Rank 1: Inflicts damage equal to 120% of Attack on all enemies
    • Rank 2: Inflicts damage equal to 120% of Attack on all enemies and Disables Attack Skills for 1 turn
    • Rank 3: Inflicts damage equal to 180% of Attack on all enemies and Disables Attack Skills for 2 turns
  • Skill 2: “Invasion Arrow”
    • Rank 1: Increases Skill Ranks of one ally
    • Rank 2: Increases Skill Ranks of all allies
    • Rank 1: Increases Skill Ranks of all allies and increases basic stats by 20% for 3 turns
  • Ultimate Move: “Rewrite Light”
    • Inflicts damage equal to 350% of Attack on all enemies and depletes 3 Ultimate Move Gauge orbs

King is a required hero, and Blue King is the best of the options available since he can petrify Gowther between attacks.  Either Red or Blue Galland can be fun to use for this battle because his Unique ability will cause Gowther to petrify himself every time he uses a Rank Up skill. Another great option can be to rush Green Jericho’s Ultimate move and attack Gowther since he is the only enemy.  Try to avoid using any heroes or moves that result in Debuffs, since Gowther will heal himself when he removes Debuffs each round.  It is important not to allow Gowther to use his Ultimate Move, so bringing along Red Ban or Red Helbram is useful to remove his Ultimate Move orbs during combat.
