Perhaps the first real roadblock of the Main Story is this episode where you have to beat Hendrickson 6 times. Not only does he cancel debuffs allowing him to hit freely, but he also hits hard and could even wipe out your team in the next turn. In this case, team composition is just as important as your equipment stats.
To address the common concern and make this run doable even for beginners, we will discuss the key factors to winning.
- Usable heroes who can give enough sustain for the team
- Overcoming Hendrickson without debuff application
- Negate Hendrickson’s fast charging ultimate
- Striking and using skills at the right moment
General Strategy[]
In these 6 stages, you need to constantly bring a hero who can deplete the enemy’s ultimate move gauge orb. Hendrickson’s ult can one-shot your hero so it has to be negated as frequently as possible.
The key is to use this “deplete” skill promptly. The right time to use it is when Hendrickson’s ultimate move gauge is fully charged and he’s queuing the ultimate on the next turn. Be careful though, If you use the skill prematurely or spam it, you might run out of “deplete” skill cards for the right moment.
There is also a huge benefit when you successfully cancel Hendrickson’s ult. It will also take off 1 attack count for the next turn, reducing damage and ensuring your team’s safety.
In most stages, Hendrickson is immune to crowd-control (CC) and we can only use Freeze/Petrify/Stun in Hendrickson stages 2 and 4.
One more hero who is highly recommended vs. Hendrickson is Green Meliodas. He is capable of dealing an enormous damage from Outburst Counter when used correctly. His stance triggers a counter that inflicts damage equal to a percentage of diminished HP. Meaning, triggering the counter at low HP deals more damage.
Tip: Only use the outburst counter when Green Meliodas’ HP is 50% or lower. While his HP is still high, merge and rank up the cards and wait for the perfect timing. Also, since the damage scales on Max HP, the recommended equipment set for him is HP/DEF with high HP stats on Belt and Rune.
One more thing, you don’t need to upgrade Green Meliodas’ ultimate for him to be effective. A level 70 hero with level 1 ultimate should already be enough. If you don’t have him yet, you can always use a friend’s Green Meliodas to help you get through the stages.
