Hero Guide[]

Summary[]

He introduced the Darkness and Light attributes to the game. This attribute, in particular, favors a sustained offensive by increasing by 10% the damage dealt to attributes that are strong against your allies. Also, Darkness attribute allies’ damage dealt to any other attribute by 10%.

Light and Dark attributes are neutral against each other and against other attributes (not providing any attribute advantages or disadvantages).

In Grand Cross, Meliodas promotes a highly offensive playstyle thanks to his Unique, which works perfectly with his skill kit by providing him with a buff on All Stats by each single target attack used by himself or his allies; furthermore, if two or more single target attacks are used in a single turn, it will decrease the damage taken by all his allies.

On the other hand, his first skill takes advantage of his Unique by having the Amplify multiplier, which deals extra damage for each buff on Meliodas. His second skill is an AOE Pierce that can make short work of even the sturdiest defenses, while his Ultimate Move can reduce the stats and remove any Buffs or Stances from his enemies while dealing massive damage to all of them.

While being a great offensive and defensive unit, to the point where he can serve as a semi-support (thanks to the buffs he provides) and a top-level damage dealer, a great counter for Meliodas can be any unit with an attack-disabling skill since he cannot remove debuffs (such as Red Gowther or Blue Summer Merlin) or with a Restrict skill such as Blue Chandler or Red Tarmiel (the latest by attacking him or a unit equipped with his Grace) or those with Buff Cancel effects

Pros[]

  • High Attack-related stats (Attack, Pierce, Crit, and Crit Damage)
  • High base HP and secondary defense stats (Crit Resistance and Crit Defense)
  • He can be excellent on PVE.
  • He can boost his allies offensively and defensively through his passive
  • He can remove buffs and Stances with his Ultimate

Cons[]

  • He can’t remove debuffs, quickly countered by any Restrict or Attack-disable skill.
  • Low Regeneration Rate and Recovery Rate
  • Many recent units outclass him.
  • Buff removal heroes will remove all buffs on him, effectively reducing his attack and preventing him from building up buffs over time.

Skill Review[]

  • Torso Cut - A single target attack with the Amplify effect, this skill gets the most significant increase for Meliodas’ Unique since it does extra damage for each buff he has.
  • Spinning Slash - An AOE attack with the Pierce multiplier; although not as incredible as the first skill, this skill will also get stronger as Meliodas accumulates more buffs. Also, thanks to this multiplier, it can remove barriers such as Blue Fairy King Harlequin’s barrier, which would nullify other skills instead.
  • Ultimate Move: Apocalypse - Traitor Meliodas’ Ultimate removes all Stances and blue buffs from all enemies on the field, then decreases their stats before attacking with the Cleave multiplier, which does not result in a Critical strike but instead deals additional damage based on Meliodas’ critical damage. It can counter buff or Stance users, such as Red Purgatory Ban, Red Festival Queen Diane, or the Goddess Team.
  • Unique: Offense-Defense Hybridity - His Unique is the core of his strategy, and true to its name, it simultaneously increases Meliodas’ offensive and defensive capabilities. For each single-target skill used by any of your units, Meliodas will get a buff which increases all his stats by 6%, stacking up to 30%, for three turns. If you use 2 (or more) single-target skills during the same turn, Meliodas will grant himself and his allies a grey buff, reducing the damage from enemies by 8% and stacking up to 40%. It ultimately means that the longer the battle, the stronger Traitor Meliodas can become offensively and defensively.

Gear Recommendation[]

Meliodas’ preferred gear is Attack/Defense if you decide not to place a taunt or Attack/Crit Damage if you have one. HP/Defense can also be helpful to ensure his survivability and avoid him getting one shot; it’s also recommendable if you lack CC.

Equipment Set[]

  • Onslaught (Attack) / Iron Wall (Defense)

OR

  • Onslaught (Attack) / Congeniality (Crit Damage)

Substats[]

  • Bracer/Ring - Attack
  • Necklace/Earring -Defense
  • Belt / Rune - HP

Usage[]

Meliodas can be a viable semi-support unit while at the same time being a decent offensive addition to your team.

PVP[]

Dark Traitor Meliodas can help solidify your team's stability by increasing his allies' defensive capabilities while increasing his own offensive. Although he’s not a solid choice as in the past, he can be helpful in low to mid-level PVP. Paired with his fellow Sins (Light Transcendent Ban, Light “The One” Ultimate Escanor, Red Festival Queen Diane), they can create a strong formation that leans towards a strong offensive while still greatly benefitting from the decrease in damage received. He can also work well with units that provide him with buffs, such as Red Arthur in conjunction with Red Sigurd, getting six buffs on turn 1, which guarantees at least one kill or severe damage on an enemy unit.

PVE[]

Despite having fallen off in PVP, Traitor Meliodas is still a great choice in several contents in PVE ranging from straightforward content such as Death Match (up to Original Demon, although he has a hard time in Gray Demon) up to Demonic Beast Battles where he can stand his own on par of the newest units.

Death Match - He’s a decent choice in all levels of all different Death Matches. Since he’s a Dark unit, he can fit in any team due to the attribute restriction considering Light and Dark units as possible options in each battle.

Hraesvelgr - Traitor Meliodas is ideal to use on all floors of the Demonic Beast battle as the primary damage dealer while also providing a much-needed defensive buff.

Eikthyrnir - Since Meliodas isn’t a unit from any of the three primary attributes, he will always trigger the penalty on the color wheel mechanic. He can be used instead as a finisher or BEFORE you activate that mechanic.

Skoll and Hati - He is a great damage dealer. His Unique Skill can prevent your units from taking any fatal damage, and his AOE Ultimate Move having a high multiplier can help in some of the gimmicks.

Nidhoggr - Meliodas can deal significant damage to the boss, and his Pierce skill can come in handy in certain situations where it’s required to reduce the effect bar of Nidhoggr. Although, Nidhoggr can remove Meliodas’ buffs on some floors, which can hinder his offensive capabilities.

Farming (Fort Solgres): Meliodas can be an excellent choice for Fort Solgres since he has 2 AOE skills; he’s a great addition to any flash farming team.

Association Name Association With Stat Increased
Protective Hearts Red Nunchuck Ban Lifesteal +12%

Drinking Enthusiasts Blue Nunchuck Ban Lifesteal +12%
Over Time Red Escanor Resistance +24.6%
Royal Blood Green Escanor Resistance +24.6%

Overall, Dark Traitor Meliodas is a welcome addition to any team. Although he’s not as strong in the past due to the inclusion of faster units that take less time to go online, he is a strong ally in prolonged battles in PVE and PVP.

Story[]

Meliodas is the Dragon's Sin of Wrath and captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, formerly the owner of the renowned tavern Boar Hat, and is the main protagonist of the series. Meliodas was trained by Chandler and he was the Leader of the Ten Commandments, as Meliodas the Love「慈愛のメリオダス, Jiai no Meriodasu」, regarded as the one most likely to become the next Demon King, for his strength and ruthlessness. His reputation lead to him being greatly feared by the enemies of the Demon Clan with even the Four Archangels of the Goddess Clan fearing and acknowledging his power. He stood as the Demon King's favorite son as well as true and worthy heir, renowned as the vilest, evil, and most terrifying demon in all existence, his power second only to the Demon King himself, later becoming a member of Stigma after his defection from the Demon Clan.
